The Paradise Problem

Christina Lauren books just keep getting better. I don't know how, but let me tell you I am here for it. The premise is borderline absurd, unbelievable, yet works SO GOOD! Anna and West got married in college so they could get cheap lodging. It was never consummated and as roommates they hardly ever saw each other. When they graduated Anna signed the divorce papers and they moved on their happy separate ways. That is until five years later. Anna has just been fired from her crappy convenience store job when West shows up asking for a favor. Turns out they had never actually been divorced and he needs her to pretend to be his wife for a tropical 10 day wedding. Oh and by the way his family is worth billions. Of course she says yes because he is willing to pay her 100,000 and that will pay off so much of her medical debt. What could go wrong? She's a broke adult who has no idea what it's like live with wealth, she can pretend to be a rich bitch.... right? Things start to go sideways when West's brother gets suspicious and when she starts to develop feelings for West. Over the top, witty, and wonderful. Christina Lauren at their best!

The Honeymoon Crashers

A fun little novella that fans of The Unhoneymooners will definitely enjoy. It's not a necessary read, but it's nice to revisit those characters. In this little follow up (that only exists as an audiobook), Ami is floored when she discovers that her twin sister is eloping on the beach. Yes, there is the Torres family curse to think of, but how could Olivia get married without her family?! Olivia and her family decide that they will crash the honeymoon and make her have a wedding. Luckily, that is secretly what Olivia wanted all along, she just felt bad asking her family to pay to travel for a destination wedding. Ami has vowed to plan the whole wedding in less than a week for her sister and she is thriving on it. she loves her to do lists. But when Olivia and her fiancé foist the best man on her things take a turn. A romantic turn. A fun audiobook with a full cast of characters and sound effects.

The True Love Experiment

Anything that Christina Lauren writes I will read! This romantic comedy featured a very fun and flirty romance author and a sexy British single dad. Connor Prince is a documentary guy and he is crushed when his production studio decides to pivot to reality tv. He is tasked with inventing a new dating show much to his dismay; it seems far to beneath him. He decides to cast Fizzy, a famous romance novelist, as the heroine looking for true love and casts 8 "heroes" that will try to woo her. The problem is the two of them get off on the wrong foot, but then maybe want to get off both feet together if you know what I mean (wink wink). Sparks fly but it could wreck the show and everything they are hoping to accomplish. Fun, flirty, and witty beyond measure. If this were a real reality show I would totally watch!

Something Wilder

A fun and sexy romp that was enjoyable but wasn't my favorite by Christina Lauren. I love the premise - archaeology is my favorite, and to have a steamy romance centered over it? Yes please! But I have the bar set really high from all the author's previous works and this was just a tad short. Lily runs an adventure company that takes groups of people out into the dessert and lets them play cowboy. On an outing gone wrong, her old flame is present and a psycho that is convinced she knows where to find Butch Cassidy's treasure because Lily's father was a famous treasure hunter. Things quickly go wrong and they find themselves having to rough it for real. Will sparks fly between Lily and the man that broke her heart a decade prior? Again, lots of fun - I will continue to read everything that Christina Lauren puts out!

The Soulmate Equation

Quick and adorable - no one writes romantic fluff like Christina Lauren. When two polar opposites are matched together using DNA technology they can't believe it. Is the science wrong? Unfortunately for them it's not, GeneticAlly gave them the highest recorded score EVER - a 98! In the history of the company they've only gotten three other matches over 90 - and to think that the founder and lead scientist of the company is one the matches. What are the odds? River is willing to go on a few dates to experience first hand if the science is true, but single mom, Jess, is less sure. The company offers to give her a stipend each month to go on dates with River and give a relationship a shot - but she's not even sure if she even wants a relationship. Jess has her kid to think about, but really she's just a chicken. Will the science prove true - are they a match? Or is this all just a publicity stunt. Charming, steamy, and funny. A great romcom!

In a Holidaze

Cute, charming, and a great holiday romance. I didn't love this as much as the last three Christina Lauren books I read but I only think that's because I'm not a fan of groundhog day or other book/movie tropes where you keep reliving the same days over and over again until you "learn your lesson." Honestly that was the only thing I didn't like about this book. Maelyn Jones and her family spend Christmas every year at their friend's cabin in the mountains. Their parent's friends and their kids come as well and it's like a huge extended gathering that Maelyn looks forward to every year. It doesn't hurt that she also gets to see Andrew, the boy she's had a crush on him since she was 13 (even though he's practically her brother). She royally screws everything up though when she makes out with Andrew's younger brother, Theo, while drunk and he witnesses it. She's mortified - if she could only turn back time. On their way to the airport their car is hit by a truck and she wakes up... on the plane headed to the cabin for Christmas. What? It takes a couple attempts at reliving Christmas to figure out what she's supposed to do but soon she realizes she needs to choose which of the brothers will make her happy. Witty and hilarious. I love this writing duo!

The Honey-Don't List

Is this book life changing? No. Is it hilarious? Yes. I read and loved The Unhoneymooners so I knew I was in for a treat when I picked this up. So witty, fun, and breezy this is the perfect beach read. Carey has worked for the Tripps for a decade and all she wants is time to rest. They have a TV show, multiple books and are America's home renovating sweethearts. The facade is starting to crack though and Carey's job is to help Melissa Tripps keep it together. James is Rusty Tripp's "assistant" and he couldn't be more different from Carey. They are like oil and water. When they are both informed last minute that their vacation's are cancelled and they have to go on a week long book tour with the Tripps and keep them from screaming at each other public they find themselves unable to avoid each other. And maybe it's the stress, but there seems to be a bit of a spark. Cute, charming, and hilarious. I loved every page of this!

The Unhoneymooners

This book made me LOL in real life. It was so freaking cute and witty; I read it in one afternoon and couldn't put it down. I loved the banter, I loved the characters, and I loved that even though you know exactly what's going to happen you can't stop reading because it's so much fun. When Olive is forced to go on a luxury honeymoon with her worst nemesis, her brother in law, Ethan. She isn't exactly thrilled. I mean she's pumped for the free drinks, snorkeling, and views; but gross, she has to share it with a guy who literally can't stand the sight of her. After the world's most revolting wedding where everyone except Ethan and Olive gets sick from fish (yay for shellfish allergies and buffet phobia!), Olive's twin sister INSISTS that she take the free honeymoon she won since she reuses to let it go to waste. What could wrong. A cute romcom that was delightful from start to finish. An excellent beach read :)
