Funny Story

This is definitely my new favorite Emily Henry romance. I loved the characters so so much! I wanted to move into this tiny Michigan town and befriend them all. They were all so funny and relatable and I loved that Daphne was a librarian. Everything was going perfect for Daphne; she and her fiancé Peter moved to this beachy little Michigan town and she befriended all his friends, fell in love with her job, and was more than happy. That is until she was jilted by her fiancé who decided that he was in love with his best friend Petra. Forced to move out, the only place she can find to go is to Petra's boyfriend's apartment. Talk about weird. They've both been jilted and are stuck with each other while Peter and Petra. One drunken night Will and Daphne decide that to get back at their exes, maybe they should pretend date to make them jealous. What could possibly go wrong?! The storyline sounds so cheesy but I promise, the book is so so good!

Book Lovers

New York Times Bestselling author, Emily Henry (Beach Read, The People We Meet on Vacation) is back with an exciting new novel that readers will devour this summer. Literary agent, Nora Stephens, is cut throat but well loved by the authors she represents; Nora eats, drinks, and breathes books. When her pregnant sister convinces her to spend the summer at the backwoods setting of her favorite romance novel, Nora can't say no - she is desperate for more sister time. What she doesn't know is that the cocky Charlie Lastra, an editor from back in New York, will also be in Sunshine Falls. Talk about a plot twist that neither of them saw coming. Charlie and Nora find themselves repeatedly thrown together, whether it be looking for the town's only wifi, ordering drinks they hate to appease the scary bartender, or discussing bigfoot erotica. Enemies to lovers will be more than a trope in one of their manuscripts as they try to decide how important first impressions are. Brilliantly narrated by Julie Whelan, who infuses her signature humor and cadence into Emily Henry's characters.  Fans of small town romances, realistically flawed characters, and witty humor will eat up Emily Henry's best book to date!

People We Meet on Vacation

The second I saw Emily Henry was coming out with a new book I knew I had to own it. And boy, she did not disappoint!! People We Meet on Vacation is a love letter/tribute to When Harry Met Sally (which makes me love it even a teensy bit more). It's the story of two friends, Poppy and Alex, and the summers they share. These oddballs met in college and were instantly best friends. They get each other's jokes and mannerisms; they just make sense together. Poppy is more than a little bit in love with him (a fact she will hardly admit to herself) but she's not willing to risk her friendship with Alex. She NEEDS him in her life - even if that's just as a friend. Since college they've always gone on a summer trip together - many years, that's the only time they see each other since Poppy moved to New York City and he stayed in Ohio. The story alternates between all their previous trips all the way up to the current summer. The banter between the two is electric and laugh out loud funny. You can also cut the sexual tension with a knife. This is the book of the summer!

Beach Read

I am head over heels for this book! This fluffy chick-lit book is exactly what I needed in my life. I laughed, I got emotional, I was totally invested. A romance author and a serious "literary" author find themselves in neighboring lake houses. They have a past. They can't stand each other. Or can they? They challenge each other to write a book that reads like something the other person would write. Witty and wonderful. I don't even want to give a detailed summary. Just read it. You'll be falling in love with the characters, their story, and their growing attraction. This is one I will recommend to everyone!
